GROUP HEAD OF PROCUREMENT | DUBLIN IRELAND



A global Engineering organisation who deliver cutting edge construction solutions, have retained Prism Executive to appoint a Group Head of Procurement. The role will be based in Dublin, have group remit, and will hold a seat at the senior leadership table. A critical appointment to the business, the role holder will make massive inroads across the group ecosystem instilling a best in class procurement system, highly skilled stakeholders relationship management and be seen as the voice of Procurement within the business, across all 14 global locations in various geographies and markets.


Group Head of Procurement


Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Supporting the projects on the ground by procuring materials, capital equipment, Fleet, Tool and Plant to sites in timely fashion at the best value.

  • Ensure best procurement practices are followed in line with project programmes and budgets to deliver best outcome for the business.

  • Lead, manage and develop the procurement team across our geographically footprint.

  • Day to day interface with all stakeholders from estimation, pre-construction, engineering, construction, commercial and other support functions to ensure requirements and needs are met.

  • Management of procurement Team in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities.

  • Ability to influence internally and externally stakeholders.

  • Creation of and reporting on key performance indicators in relation to the procurement function and supply chain while identifying automation opportunities and driving these to completion.

  • Overseeing all procurement costs and budgets with regular monitoring and reporting while identifying cost reduction/management process improvements.

  • Identify supplier risk situations and work with business to implement risk mitigations strategies and resolution programs.

  • Participate in RFQ and Supplier Selection activities to ensure that any new suppliers are production-ready in line with business requirements, ensuring no interruption to operations.

  • Lead and drive the process for the evaluation and selection of new suppliers.

  • Management of materials through the project life cycle to ensure effectively and efficiently managed and controlled.

  • Management of fleet, tool and plant throughout the business.

  • Review, develop and maintain all supplier agreements.

  • Build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

  • Continuous monitoring of supply chain and communication with senior management teams of any possible risks or obstacles which may emerge.


Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • Min 10+ years industry and site- based experience.

  • 3rd level qualification in relevant area.

  • Ability to work as part of and to lead a team, including leading cross disciplinary initiatives.

  • Strong negotiation skills, with proven ability to persuade and influence at all levels.

  • Ability to work on own initiative being proactive, driven and enthusiastic.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

  • A high degree of flexibility, organisational and analytical skills

  • Ability to deal with change and drive change management initiatives.

  • Willingness and ability to execute innovative solutions

  • Ability to travel as role will have a travel component.


Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role with international exposure.

  • Resilience and tenacity.

  • SAP experience.

  • Dedicated attention to detail with ability to use data to make and support decisions.

  • Willingness and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
