HEAD OF FINANCE | FOODSERVICE / RETAIL DUBLIN


Due to continued growth within the business, a Global Retail client have retained Prism Executive in appointing a Head of Finance into their Irish organisation. The role holder will work closely with the COO and other internal stakeholders in implementing and leading a best in class data driven commercial and operational finance function. Leading from the front, with true passion for mentorship and management of their team within finance. The critical importance of organisational culture and fit will resonate with them and become part of their DNA. Holding a deep understanding of a business eco system and how each function are interconnected with culture an fit. As this is a pivotal hire into the business, the appointee will hold experience across transformation and team leadership, influencing and providing counsel to C-Suite boards and key decision makers in the business.


Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Finance will:

  • Hold responsibility for the day-to-day financial management and controls of the Group

  • Provide and interpret and act upon efficient and effective financial information

  • Ensure that business processes and systems are always best in class

  • Lead and motivate a team of Finance staff, both qualified and unqualified in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Be a key member of our Leadership Team, working closely with the operations side of our business and ensuring that we are well placed for future opportunities

  • Lead relationships with bankers, tax advisors and auditors, payroll bureau, software & technology providers.

  • Supporting Senior Management in managing and reviewing commercial and financial performance of the business against targets and other metrics

  • Timely and accurate preparation of the monthly and annual management accounts

  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis including

  • Preparation of various performance and internal KPI packs

  • Cashflow management and reporting

  • Overall management of Payroll, VAT & PAYE

  • Annual statutory audit procedures

  • Ensuring entity is fully compliant with all relevant laws, accounting standards and filing requirements

  • Preparation of monthly and ad hoc finance and business reports for Management and Board meetings

  • Provide bespoke financial information to better enhance the commercial decision-making process

Experience:

  • Successful candidate will have relevant accountancy qualifications ACCA/ACA/CIMA

  • 5+ years' experience desired within a busy finance function within a high volume retail environment.

  • Excellent professional communicator, strong commercial acumen, exacting attention to detail, strong demonstrable computer, IT and digital Skills.
