Prism Executive have been retained to identify and appoint a Head of HR for a global wholesale distribution company. Due to continued growth within the Group, the Head of HR will lead and develop the existing HR function in Ireland. Reporting into the CEO of Ireland and HR Director for Group, the appointee will work closely with the senior management team, growing out the HR and People function. Bringing added value to recruitment, talent management & retention, HR strategy, L&D, C&B, Industrial and Employee Relations and Branding.


The role holder will be responsible for managing HR, Employee Relations and People aspects of the HR function with the overall objective of implementing a best-in-class HR process into the business. Contribute to a 10 strong Senior Leadership team –with responsibility for HR, H&S, ESG and Internal Compliance.


Responsibilities:

People Centric Approach:

o   Prioritise a people centric approach in all areas of the business.

o   Annual People Review for senior roles and key knowledge holders.

o   Develop succession plans – for key knowledge holders and senior managers.

Engagement & Communication:

o   Manage internal communication – newsletter, job advertisements, developing intranet sites from sourcing providers, to building and implementing the solution.

o   Employee engagement surveys –Local & Company wide communication and action plans based on results.

o   People centric approach during periods of change.

Strategy:

o   Part of the Senior Leadership team that devises 5-year, 3 year and annual strategic plans – responsible for HR, talent and ESG.

Recruitment:

o   Responsible for recruitment and on-boarding processes across all levels of the organisation to up to and including CEO.

Learning & Development:

o   Conducting training needs analysis.

o   Aligning the annual training plan with the strategy and growth plan for the business.

o   Developing new training programmes to meet needs of the business.

o   Involved in the global project to launch a new online learning platform across the world and within Ireland.

Industrial Relations:

o   Handle all industrial relations issues including attending WRC hearing and trade union negotiations.

o   Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on terms & conditions of employment, HR policies/procedures & processes.

o   Diagnose & resolve employment relations queries, in line with employment legislation and internal policy and procedures.

Experience:

  • Experience (5+ years) in wholesale consumer goods sector

  • A relevant third level HRM or Business qualification

  • Proven experience at Human Resources Director or Manager level

  • Proven experience of collaborating at senior leadership level, managing multiple key stakeholders and delivering on their expectations.

  • Experience of designing and implementing integrated Talent Management Strategies.

  • Being recognized as a HR expert with a broad network that can be leveraged for benchmarking and gaining critical industry insights that can add value to the business.

  • Experience in the construction industry would be an advantage but not essential.

  • Ability to implement and oversee best practice HR processes and procedures
